What began as a wall resurfacing project in the early 1990’s gave birth to a stylistic period which endures to the present.  Three dimensional texturing of joint compound on a room wall translates over to the acrylic medium in an exciting, dynamic way, creating new forms and landscapes.   Many of Van Vliet’s recent works utilize this texturing, from a series of smaller pieces to larger pieces on canvas or paperboard.
