Richard Van Vliet Fine Art

Fantasy Landscape

Van Vliet likes to focus on the micro while creating a vast macro world of imagination.  The size of his pieces vary, as do levels of detail.  One of his largest pieces, titled No Vacancy, is a sublime landscape populated by minute detail.  Other pieces, such as Maui and Origin involve otherworldly suns or momentary journeys into a parallel universe, like the eye of Jupiter.  Many of Van Vliet’s paintings are influenced by travels, such as NYC Revisited and Arizona, while many are closer to home, the mountains of Colorado, like Colorado River, Whitewater, or C You At DU.  Many are the product of traveling in the imaginary sense or within, such as China Town and Reincarnate.
